Ever since the boom of the internet age where most people communicate

Ever since the boom of the internet age where most people communicate online, internet dating has also bloomed. I'm not one who takes to meeting random strangers at a bar, so much so online. However, I have been quite curious about it. I did wonder if it could work for me or not. I know people who have met their "one and only"s through internet dating. So this morning, out on a whim, I joined and created a profile on one of those popular internet dating sites. I wrote a funny short exaggerated blog post about desperation and online dating, signing off with the signature: "Needing a hug, Miss Teddy."
At first, I was apprehensive. I didn't think there would be real decent people going online looking for real long term love. Look who's talking, right?Haha! I browsed profiles for about an hour, just getting the feel of the site, exploring their links and pages, when someone popped a message on the chat box feature saying hi. I thought, who could this bloke be? I replied with a simple "hello". The guy said something in my profile caught his attention. Then he gave me a link to his profile asking me to take a look. He said I will understand why he took an interest once I read his "About Me" entry. I thought, why not? I'm browsing profiles anyway. A recommendation wouldn't make any difference.
He has a very comprehensive "About Me" section that it could almost become his mini autobiography. He even listed the names of all of his 21 pets. I thought okay... when will it end..? I wanted to get to the very end of it but decided against that. I might miss what he was indicating about. Then, there it was. That statement that made me smile. On the second to the last paragraph of his "About Me" section he wrote, "I'm a nice guy who loves to give out free hugs.". Exploring his profile, I thought he might indeed be a nice guy. Active in sports, adores his family based on comments from friends, and a favorite volunteer in their community animal shelter. Coming across his pictures made my mouth drop, he's a handsome stunner! Might be too good to be true..
Well, I messaged him after exploring his profile a bit more saying I just might accept one of his free hugs. I have to learn more about him though. It's still good to take precaution with this internet dating thing. Who knows, though? This could lead to something deep or it could just be a fun fling. Have to find that out for myself.=)
